Why do we need Cherokee Town?
The world around us has become more fragmented. In a very short time, the things that we took for granted like affordable housing, secure food, and meaningful employment are seriously at risk. No longer can we rely on others to provide these things; we must be proactive and do for ourselves.
And that’s what Cherokee Town is. It’s a self-sufficient program that combines those three basic needs into a cohesive plan for the future. We are looking forward to partnering with our Nation to make something that seems like a pipe dream a reality.
We need you, though. We need this to be a group effort, and not just by those of us with Cherokee blood, but the whole community. It’s time for us to come together and work for a new way of doing things. We welcome you to join us.
The White Raven Society is a Cherokee-founded organization dedicated to preserving heritage through art, language, and storytelling. It serves as both a cultural collective and a creative network, helping writers, artists, and craftspeople bring their work to the world while maintaining the spirit of Cherokee values—community, resilience, and remembrance. The Society manages a publishing arm that supports Indigenous and allied authors. Blending tradition with innovation, the White Raven Society stands as a bridge between generations, ensuring that the Cherokee voice continues to grow, adapt, and endure.
